Q & A
Q: What is the time period a participant is committing to?
A: COS takes place between 5 October and 14 October 2018. You may choose to participate for a minimum of TWO days out of the 10 days or as many as you choose – the choice is yours.
Q: What are the hours each artist will be open to the public?
A: Participants will commit to opening their doors on their chosen days and be in attendance between 11.00hrs and 17.00hrs – or have a stand-in if they need to be absent for any reason.
Q: How do I choose my days to open?
A: You need to tick the boxes on the registration form for the days you choose to open your doors to the public.
Q: Is the participation fee for one weekend?
A: No! The participation fee covers the entire event, no matter how many days you choose to participate.
Q: Does the participation fee cover the event only?
A: No. Your entry will remain on the website until registration starts for the next Cyprus Open Studios event in 2019.
Q: How do I pay off-line?
Q: I am not very computer literate – is there another way I can register?
Q: I don’t know how to compress files for the images – how can I send them?
Q: Are there alternative venues if I do not want to open my own studio?
Q: When will I receive the COS Handbook?
A: As soon as your payment has been confirmed.
Q: If I do not have a studio to open, can I still become a member?
A: Yes! We offer a “member only” subscription at €35,00 per annum, with an entry on the website only where people will find your contact information all year round.
Q: How do I find someone to share space with?
A: That is usually a personal choice amongst friends, art group members, pupils at a school, or through your teachers. You should share space with someone you know well.
Q: Does COS work with galleries?
A: On a very limited basis – please contact us for more information.
Q: How do I exhibit abroad?
A: We will assist you through our international division, Open Galleries Abroad (OGA) – please contact us if you cannot find the information on the website.
